Cuarteto Moon 

El Cuarteto Moon es un cuarteto de cuerdas que nace en la ciudad de Barcelona a

comienzos del año 2018, integrado por Álvar Llusá-Damiani (violín), Annabel

Ibanez (violín), Adrià Gorrias Cardona (viola) y Denisse Iula (cello).

Su repertorio recorre distintos géneros y períodos, desde la música clásica hasta la

música moderna, pasando por el tango y las bandas sonoras.

Ha colaborado con el conjunto de música electrónica Playback Maracas, grabando el

disco “Playback Maracas & The Electronic Moon Orchestra” (El Segell, 2018) y

presentándose en importantes escenarios tales como Razzmatazz 2 y el festival

Barcelona Acció Musical (La Mercè 2019), concierto filmado y transmitido por

betevé.

Ha musicalizado eventos empresariales, tales como la 29a edición de la Fira Nuvis

(Cúpula las Arenas, Barcelona) para la plataforma Acqustic.

En el plano audiovisual se destaca su aparición en un episodio de la primera

temporada de la serie Merlí: Sapere Aude (Movistar+), en el que interpreta en vivo

un fragmento del Cuarteto No. 3 en Si bemol mayor de Franz Schubert.

Durante noviembre de 2019 realizó un ciclo de cuatro conciertos en el Teatre Gaudí

de Barcelona, interpretando arreglos de piezas de rock clásico, además de obras de

compositores como Ástor Piazzolla e Igor Stravinsky.

Álvar Llusá-Damiani (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1991, violin) graduated as a Music Professor with a concentration in violin from Escuela Municipal de Bellas Artes “Carlos Morel” de Quilmes.  He studied with violinists Hernán Cupeta, José Obermeister, Sergio Poli, Marcelo Marcelli, Sophie Lüssi and Jasper Leclercq.  He also studied Jazz, Tango and Folklore at the Popular Music School of Avellaneda and Chamber Music at the National University of Lanús. He is currently studying for a Degree in Composition at the Conservatori Liceu de Barcelona with a scholarship from the Fundació de Música Ferrer-Salat.   

 

He has performed with several Symphonic Orchestras in Argentina, such as the Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Florencio Varela, the Amadeus Orchestra FM 104.9 and the Quantum Orchestra while performing in some of the most recognized venues in the country, such as the Luna Park Stadium, the Blue Whale Symphony Hall, the Usina del Arte and the Teatro Argentino de La Plata.  In Catalonia, he joined the University Orchestra of Barcelona and collaborated with Power-Up Orchestra. 

 

In the field of popular music, he has collaborated on the projects Vade Retro, Nau Aletheia, Bubu and the Sextet Murgier (“Muy lejos” album, nominated for the Gardel 2018 Awards as the best new tango artist album).  He also participated as a guest in recordings of The Dagg, J. Cristiani, Solentina, Canturbe, G. Herrera.

In 2015, he received a scholarship from the National Arts Fund to participate in the “III Encuentro de Improvisación y Composición Musical,” held at the Bariloche Music Camp.  The following year, he participated in a European tour with the Diagonal Quintet and performed in various cities in Germany, France and Estonia (Festival Tango Port Tallin).  In 2017, he worked as a violinist of the Elan Duo on the Celebrity Reflection Cruise. Since 2017 he lives in Barcelona, where he has collaborated with artists such as Manu Chao among many others.

Adrià Gorrias Cardona (Ciutadella de Menorca, 1990, viola) began his violin studies at the age of four with Esther Pons. Later on, he started studying the viola with Andreu Cardona, combining the two instruments. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in 2013 with a concentration on viola at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona with Ashan Pillai.  Between 2013 and 2015, he received his Master's Degree in Viola Performance at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Germany) with Prof. Matthias Buchholz. 

 

He combines his studies with participation in Orchestras. He has been a member, among others, of the JONC (Young National Orchestra of Catalonia), JONDE (Young National Orchestra of Spain), NJO (Nationaal Jeugd Orkest Holland) and a reserve member of the GMJO (Gustav Mahler Jungerorchester), performing concerts in different concert halls throughout Spain, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, France, Italy and Portugal, under the leadership of renowned conductors such as Ariel Zuckermann, Karl Anton Rickenbacher, Manuel Valdivieso, and Salvador Brotons. He has been an Academician of the Sinfonieorchester Aachen (Germany) during the 2015/16 season and is currently a member of the Illa de Menorca Chamber Orchestra. 

 

He participated in different summer music courses, both on violin and viola, in Barcelona, ​​Cervera, Málaga and Enghien (Belgium). He performed in master classes with Donald McInnes and Emil Cantor, in the specialty of Viola and Chamber Music. He has also participated in Chamber Music Festivals such as "Músics en Residència" in Alella in the Summer of 2013 and “Delta Chamber Music Festival” in the Summer of 2016.

Annabel Ibañez (Spanish / American, 1983, violin) graduated from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education/Violin .  She studied with Dana Mazurkevich.  She worked for 4 years as a teacher for the Intensive Community Program (ICP) for the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYSO).  She worked as a string teaching apprentice with string pedagogue, Bonnie Black.  She taught students violin, viola and double bass. She was then hired to revive the string program in the public schools of Fairfax, California.  She worked there for five years and taught violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, percussion, xylophones, recorder, and general music.  She was the conductor of two Orchestras and taught about 500 students each year.  During this time, Annabel played in various music ensembles while living in San Francisco.  She played with the Arab Orchestra (ASWAT), an Indie Folk band (IL GATO), a Russian Folk band (SHARMANKA) and with Classical Revolution.   

 

She then moved to Natal, Brazil and studied violin with Donedilk Dantas at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. For the following three years, Annabel was hired as the Orchestra Director of Ossining High School in New York.  Here she directed two Orchestras rehearsals daily, taught lessons on violin, viola, cello and bass, taught guitar and piano classes and taught a general music class to children with disabilities.  While in NY, she studied violin with Krzysztof Kuznick. In the Fall of 2016, Annabel relocated to Barcelona. She is an independent contractor currently working as an English language conversation specialist and teaching private music lessons.  She is involved in playing music in various projects within the city, including a solo project called Automatic Music Experience (automaticmusicexperience.com). 

Denisse Iula (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1990, cello) started playing cello through an educational project called Orquesta Escuela of Buenos Aires.  She continued her cello studies at the Bellas Artes School of Florencio Varela.  She took classes with such prominent cellists as José Araujo and Laia Puig.   She also played in several masterclasses with Stanimir Todorov and Erica Wise. 

She was a member of the Florencio Varela Symphonic Orchestra and worked with the Youth Orchestra of this city as a cello instructor.  She was chosen to be a member of the Bicentenario Symphonic Youth Orchestra playing in various tours in Argentina.  She was also a member of the String Quintet Cerda Negra and the Tango Sextet El Raye.  She shared the stage with other important musicians from the modern scene such as León Gieco, Víctor Heredia and Liliana Felipe.

 

She moved to Barcelona in 2016 to continue her musical studies at the Liceu Conservatory.
